Care

  • We offer a full continuum of care across our three homes including independent living, assisted living, rest home, hospital and dementia care. Comprehensive care options are available as your circumstances change.

  • A full suite of services makes each day as comfortable and carefree as possible, and support services are adapted to the lifestyle and care required for each resident. Podiatrist care and physiotherapy are on hand throughout the week to assist residents with their movement and function. We also offer a hairdressing service, on-site laundry, and television in resident lounges.

  • Caregivers are on duty 24 hours a day and our local medical practitioners are on call for medical needs that may arise outside of hours. All rooms feature strategically placed call bell systems that are monitored 24 hours a day.

Every six months we review your care with you and members of your family to discuss any issues and plan strategies for ongoing support.

  • Yes. Bainlea House is a specialised dementia care facility and part of the Rangiora Lifecare family. Nestled in a picturesque residential area and surrounded by beautiful gardens, this purpose-built home caters to long-term care and respite care within a safe and considerate environment.

  • If you or your loved one is living with dementia, you can take comfort in the knowledge that our clinical staff are highly trained and experienced in this specialist field of care. Caregivers are carefully chosen for their aptitude for dementia care and are on duty around the clock to ensure residents receive the necessary attention.

Financials

  • We offer a range of options ranging from rest homes and hospital-style rooms to our specialised dementia care home. You may be eligible for partial or fully subsidised care if you meet the relevant criteria.

  • Before enrolling as a resident at Rangiora Lifecare, you will be evaluated by a local needs assessor, who will help to identify your care needs and arrange for a means test with Work and Income New Zealand. If you meet the relevant criteria, you may be eligible for partial or fully subsidised care.

  • Yes, residents are responsible for insuring their personal possessions.

  • Our independent living villas and serviced apartments do not fall within the scope of government funding. If you have any questions relating to costs for independent living villas or serviced apartments please contact our care home managers and they will be happy to answer them for you.

  • We support residents to maintain a small personal fund to cover small incidental costs such as haircuts, snacks and personal grooming products.

Activities

  • Activities play an important role at Rangiora Lifecare. We offer a full and rich activity programme that caters to individual preferences. Crafts, board games, gardening and religious services are favourites with residents, and our library is well-stocked with popular reading material.

    A particular highlight is the frequent visits from students at nearby schools to sing, read and create art with our residents. For residents that like a wander, we undergo regular outings into the Rangiora community. Family and friends are welcome to join in on all supported activities.
